When digital tools are easily available to shape almost every task in our lives. Ever wondered how an artist utilises digital tool to create lasting artworks?
Meet Vasundhara Prakash or better known as Halkagehra. (Instagram @https://www.instagram.com/halkagehra) who is currently based in New Delhi, India. Vasundhara decided to become an artist in 2012, specialising in digital art collages, by starting with creating art for herself and now being able to share the joy of it with the world.

As an artist, it is important to Vasundhara that accessibility of art could be available at any touch points, from public art, a magazine, or on a wall at a dentist’s clinic. Her hope and belief is that art can resonate with people, and move them.
The Magic I Made by Halkagehra (Vasundhara Prakash)
Each work has its own hidden story; it’s own secret life, inviting viewers to make up their own stories too
To understand Vasundhara's digital art collages, it is helpful to understand her artist alias - Halkagehra.
I like the contradiction of the words 'halka' which means slight or light, while 'gehra' means deep.
Together the words, in Hindi, could make an oxymoron. Vasundhara likes the contradiction of it and also, the subtlety and
nuance of a slightly deeper meaning. In using digital tools to create and design collages it is no simple feat. The root of alias comes into focus, evident in the fluidity of her creation.
Vasundhara has an open approach to process her inner world. A stream of consciousness, using fragments, memories and moods which is purely intuitive. A conscious effort to move away from the confines of predictability, the visual language reaches a surreal finale, of juxtaposition of the real and imagined.

The fluidity and flexibility of her design means there are no fixed sizes or forms. The website, Society6.com is where she currently uploads her design allowing people who are interested in her unique visual art to purchase it as art prints, mugs, clocks and more items which are both beautiful and functional. This range of options mean that anyone could own a piece of artwork starting from an affordable price or to a more exclusive and premium product printed with her design.

My hope for art is for it be as accessible as possible, not only for those, who are interested in art and therefore seek it but for an unexpected joy of experiencing art
Vasundhara is currently part of a design studio which specialises in designing narrative and experiential museums.
